Movin’ Mountains
copyright 2017

Verse 1:

Jesus met a desp’rate father
Who was shaken and undone
He was anguished, deeply troubled
And concerned about his son
“Your disciples failed to heal him”
Said the father to the Lord
IF You can, Lord, I’m appealin’,
Let my son now be restored

Chorus

Sometimes problems are like mountains
Looming high and tow'ring tall
Movin' mountains ain't for doubtin'
Hardly takes much faith at all

Movin’ mountains ain't confoundin'
If our faith is not too small
Movin' mountains ain't astoundin'
To our God who's Lord of All

Verse 2:

Jesus answered caring, thoughtful
Saying IF you will believe
There is nothing that's impossible,
What you ask in faith can be
“I believe”, Lord, You can heal him
But please help my unbelief’
So the Master said to bring him
Healed his son and set him free

Chorus

Instrumental

Verse 3: (Key Change)

Do you have some lofty summit
That is standing in your way?
You can’t seem to o’ercome it
Maybe facing every day
When its faith that you are lacking
And your mountains don't obey
There is faith that’s for the asking
And His Word will give you Faith

Chorus

Sounds like a fun gospel-type song! Pretty up-tempo. I know, "that's my answer to everything". Smile

Neil I really like this and I can hear it as a country song for sure.

However, the end of the first part and beginning of the second part of the chorus is confusing to me. I know what your trying to say, but I don't think your saying it

Movin' mountains ain't for doubtin'
Hardly takes much faith at all

Movin’ mountains ain't confoundin'
If our faith is not too small

maybe you can tweak that a bit to make it less confusing

otherwise, verses look good

I hear a bluegrass song! Good stuff and I like it. Most of what I see for changes are minor things that make it smoother for what I hear in my head. So that could be completely wrong for what you have in mind.

Hi Neil
I listened to your song and gave you a crit.
However, this really reads like bluegrass which is nothing like your tune.

I hear this singing to "OH SUSANNA"
If that is a public domain song, why don't you try it out.
it really works!

Neil,

For my critique, I'm wondering which healing this is (Chapter and verses, please).

Has my faith moved mountains? I'd like to say "yes".

From death he did rise and will come again.
Move on with him now to be ready for then.
