Hey Andy this is great.   Absolutely the bass playing expertise comes through.  My only question is with such a great first rhyme in the chorus with well of living water and we are your sons and daughters I am curious as to why you chose to not rhyme the other lines in the Chorus the same way?

Doesn't kill the tune, but just wondering about your thought process?  Obviously the tune is done, and nothing will be changed.  I would've probably put the same rhyming pattern in lines 4 & 5 to match 1 & 2. Simply because it is a match.......But these are decisions made for a specific reason and your decision works really well

Just curious.....

Love the tune

Hey, thanks for all the comments guys - really glad you like the song! For some reason I didn't see the last 2 or 3 replies until this morning:

Steve A, that's an interesting point you raise about the second half of the chorus. Whenever you write a song there is always a tension between the message that you want to convey (lyrics/emotion/feelings) and the delivery of that message which has to be crafted through rhyme, flow, meter - you have to find the balance of what works for you i.e, do you give up some of the essence of your message in return for better rhyme? Or do you give up some rhyme in order to retain more essence of your message? In this song, "water" and "daughter" are very closely rhyming words, however for the second half of the song I really wanted to convey the message of Matthew 11 v28 as a main theme of the chorus. I really wanted to use words directly from scripture i.e, rest, weary, heavy laden and the line I came up with "You are the rest for all the weary and we are the heavy laden" is the best that I could come up with that both conveyed what I wanted to convey and was also within the limits of rhyme and flow that I was happy with!

Michael: Thanks for the encouragement!

Robsie: Glad you like the music and thanks so much for supporting me by downloading the whole EP! I really hope you enjoy the music!
