Children of the King - rough demo

Best,

I'm torn - I know that the line has an awkward flow - doesn't come off the tongue naturally. I should probably change it to:

With royal blood, our ransom has been paid...

I'm torn because this seems to me more plebian - still, I feel like I should go for what rolls off the tongue more easily.

Ronnie, thanks for the enthusiastic response!

hum...I don't know about them drums.

Have you tried to remove the drums and slow down the beat? Right now it seems too fast, and the melody and lyrics all kinda blend together without much dynamic or clear separation.

Just my two cents.

LOL, Larry - I know I don't have the skill to create a recording that measures up to your standards (I've read many of your critiques in my time here at CSN). Who knows - maybe someday I'll acquire the skill! This particular recording was done particularly "quick and dirty" due to time constraints - I didn't bother to record a guitar track even though guitar is the damp hamster's happy place. The recording was not created for public consumption, per se - it was created so that the worship leadership at my church could get a basic idea of the chord progression, rhythm, and melody. I think we're all agreed that a few beats per minute slower would make it easier for a congregation to participate more comfortably.

Thanks for the two cents!

The sermon series reached Romans 8 today so we introduced "Children of the King" as an offertory. I was pleasantly surprised at how many of the congregation made the spontaneous effort to join in despite never having heard it before today.
