Love vs. hate
#1
All comments appreciated.   God Bless John.

Love vs. hate

(verse 1)
So many bombs fly and so many people die
Children starve while their mothers can only cry
Terror finds its way into everyday life
Its message of destruction and death cuts like a knife

(pre chorus)
But we don’t have to accept our world’s hate
Because God’s Love

(chorus)
Led David to conquer Goliath, Moses to part the sea
Led Jesus to rise above dying saving you and me
So understand when they come face to face
God’s Love obliterates hate
God’s Love obliterates hate

(verse 2)
Politics divides us tweets spread anger all around
We hide behind our parties trust can’t be found
Judgement based on color won’t go away
The resulting dissension can’t be held at bay

(pre chorus)
But we don’t have to accept our world’s hate
Because God’s Love

(chorus)
Led David to conquer Goliath, Moses to part the sea
Led Jesus to rise above dying saving you and me
So understand when they come face to face
God’s Love obliterates hate
God’s Love obliterates hate

(bridge)
We can stamp out all the wickedness
We just need to have the willingness
To raise one hand to The Almighty above
And reach out the other to one needing His Love

Instrumental:

(pre chorus)
(chorus)

great lyric. I would challenge your title. a title of a lyric should be clear to the listener without them being told what it is.

if you read this lyric to a friend and ask them what the title is, what do they say?

I am guessing, "God's Love Obliterates Hate" might be the choice...perhaps.

enjoyed the read, John.

Thanks for the feedback. I do see your point about the title.

John,

Your title aroused my curiosity as to what I would find.

Just the lyrics themselves only made me see potential. The tune can make or break your words.

In your pre chorus, I find "Because God’s Love" unclear. Do you mean "Because God is Love", "Because of God's Love", or what? I'm leaning to "Because God is Love", and I would definitely not abbreviate for clarification.

Thanks for the feedback. To answer your question Because of God's Love is what I was going for in the pre chorus. I thought that with the way the chorus was structured that was clear. Also putting of in there doesn't work with the chorus as currently structured.

The link below is the finished product if your interested. I can't take credit for the music or vocals as I only write lyrics.

Thanks again and God Bless,
