  Worship Him Now
Posted by: firesong - 09-01-2017, 06:31 PM - Forum: Song Critiques - Replies (1)

So I'm watching PBS and Nathan Carter (an Irish country music singer) is in concert and this guy is great and I feel like I want to write a Celtic flavored song...but not about the lassies or the pubs or old Ireland...so this is what came out.  https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=13623295

Worship Him Now
words and music: Dan Simmons

I can feel it rising in my soul
I can sense His love for me...so I'm letting go

And I'll worship Him now
So let the fire fall
Let the Spirit rise in me
As I give Him my all
Glory and praise to Him belong
I'll lift up my heart
I'll lift up my hands
I'll lift up my song...
And worship

I can feel it burning like a fire
Deeper and deeper...higher and higher

I'll worship Him now
Let the fire fall
Let the Spirit rise in me
I'll give Him my all
Glory and praise to Him belong
I'll lift up my heart
I'll lift up my hands
I'll lift up my song...
And worship

(instrumental)

I'll lift up my heart
I'll lift up my hands
I'll lift up my song

Oh, I'll worship Him now
So let the fire fall
Let the Spirit rise in me
As I give Him my all
Glory and praise to Him belong
I'll lift up my heart
I'll lift up my hands
I'll lift up my song

I'll lift up my heart
I'll lift up my hands
I will lift up my song
And I'll worship

First-fruit of Heaven and Heart of God's love
Ending, beginning all future, all past

Lord, the Last thing we need is the same as the first
Only Your love can quench a soul's thirst
Love beyond measure; Love unsurpassed
Lord Jesus, our Savior, our First Love and Last

We were still sinners, yet, You loved us first
You washed our sin stains, Lord, even our worst
Oceans of mercy, flow boundless and vast

Version #2  (Same Melody)

First and Last

Composed by: Warren Jurgens
Words: Neil Sleevi

Let me seek first Lord, the Kingdom of God;

Enter Your presence, Your heart, and Your love.

Give me the grace to let go of the past,

Alpha, Omega the First and the Last.

Chorus

Lord, the last thing I’ll need is the same as the first;

Only Your love will satisfy thirst.

Love beyond measure; love unsurpassed,

Lord Jesus, my Savior: First love and last

Verse 2

Help me love others as You loved me first;

Even though trouble may make things seem worse.

Lord Your forgiveness and kindness are vast,

Alpha, Omega, the First and the Last

Chorus

Bridge:

You are the first and the last
You are the first and the last

Verse 3 (Key Change)

First will be last, and the last will be first,

With Your last breath Lord, You’ve broken sins' curse

First-born Lamb risen as death lost its grasp

Alpha, Omega, the First and the Last

Chorus

Most of the stuff I write falls into the gospel/bluegrass or southern rock, country area due to my voice really. Would love to hear about yall as well. Hope that I can help and be helped as we singing for the glory of God.

  Stand Befrore Your Throne
Posted by: BobisBack - 08-28-2017, 09:17 AM - Forum: Song Critiques - Replies (4)

I guess since I've already paid to record the demo, there is not a whole lot
of change I am going to make, but am open to suggestions if someone eventually
wants to record it.

Stand Before Your Throne

I am weak, in the presence of Your beauty
I grow faint from the touch of Your hand
I collapse at one glimpse of Your Glory
With You this near, I just cannot stand

Lord who can stand before You?
Who can climb that hill?
Purify my heart
Purge me of my will  (This is the one line I've changed half a dozen times and not completely sold on)

So I can stand before Your throne
And join the angels in "Holy, Holy!"
Worship You alone
Holy! Holy! Holy! Holy!
I'll stand before Your throne
And join the angels in "Holy, Holy!"
Who Was and Is to Come
Holy! Holy! Holy Holy Lord

Who Was and Is and Is to Come
Holy Holy Holy Holy  (x4)

  Seasons of Grace
Posted by: DaricOliver - 08-27-2017, 11:11 PM - Forum: Song Critiques - Replies (1)

This is a brand new song I just finished yesterday.  I have not been on at all recently due to working so much but hopefully will change.  Hopefully I will have a demo of it later this week.

I see your beauty in amazing things
From brilliant colors to the fragrances of spring
I see your hand is at work at all times
From new beginnings to new born life

Seasons change, you remain the same
Your graces endures, your love secures my life

I see your beauty in amazing ways
From stunning rainbows to a midsummers rain
I see your hand is at work at all times
From starting over to giving it another try

Seasons change, you remain the same
Your grace endures, your love secures my life

I see your beauty in amazing things
From mountain landscapes to falls changing leaves
I see your hand is at work at all times
Continuing to prosper or just getting by

Seasons change, you remain the same
Your grace endures, your love secures my life

I see your beauty in amazing things
From snowy mountains to iced over trees
I see your hand is at work at all times
From moving on to saying goodbye
I see your grace is at work at all times
From the beginning to the end of our lives

Seasons change, you remain the same
Your grace endures, your love secures
Your grace sustains, your love remains
Your love and grace changes my life.

  Let Go of Your Life
Posted by: novice62 - 08-27-2017, 03:49 PM - Forum: Lyric Critiques - No Replies

Any comments to improve on this one?  Thank you.  Neil

Let Go of Your Life

Verse 1

If you will follow Jesus Christ
You will never walk in darkness
You will walk in the light
He is the Light and the Light of Life

Chorus:

Let go of your life, leave it behind
Let it go for Jesus’ sake
Release it to the Lord and you will find
True life from believing in Jesus’ Name

Let go of your life, leave it behind
Lose your life for Jesus’ sake
Give in to God as He designed
Let go, let God, have His way

Verse 2

If you want to follow Him
Choosing to be His disciple
You must turn from your ways
Pick up your cross ev’ry single day

Chorus

Instrumental Bridge

Verse 3
(Key change)

If you will serve Him, follow Him
Where He is His servant will be
There will be blessings in return
God will honor anyone who serves

Chorus

  All is Well

© Deb Rempel 2017

Verse One
Going through a tough spell, Lord, You know.
My fault that I fell, oh, Lord, You know.
I prayed for relief.
All You gave was peace –
(So I’m) Singing from this darkness, “All is well.”

Chorus
All is well with my soul.
Even here, in this hole.
Lord, I have no doubt
You will raise me out.
‘Till You do I’m singing, “All is well.”

Verse Two
Days stretch into weeks, oh, Lord, You know.
When will this trouble cease -only You know --
(But) All my days are Yours
So, I trust You, Lord.
Until I am released, Lord, All is well.

Chorus

Bridge
I have lived
In my own hell.
You raised me then.
Yes, all is well.
Under Your wings, Lord,
I surely dwell.
Oh, take Your time, Lord.
All is well.

Chorus
